My New Favorite Store

I am in need of a major shopping intervention. Like I was saying in my previous post, I am searching for fun, casual pieces. Madewell fits the bill perfectly! Everything is super soft, I absolutely love it. And it all goes well with things I already have in my closet. Here's a sneak peek of my shopping excursion! I am a big fan of bright yellow this season.

Ultra Comfortable

Transitioning from office wear into casual wear hasn't really been that easy for me. I loved dressing up for work in dresses, button downs, skirts, and heels. But taking classes and working retail part time has made me realize that my casual wardrobe was seriously lacking. I needed some nicer clothes than the clothes that I go to the gym in. This outfit is super comfortable, which is really crucial for me when I go to school, and I love the combination of purple and grey.

What I am wearing:
-purple Madewell pocket tee with drawstring hem
-grey/white/seafoam American Eagle scarf
-black J.Crew bubble necklace
-grey J.Crew utlity pants
-tan DVF Love Knot sandals
-yellow/white Target bangle, yellow J.Crew bangle
-Ray Ban aviators (borrowed from the boyfriend!)

Summer is here!!!!!

Even though its still only April, still feels like summer!!! Was lucky enough to get off of work at 4 yesterday, in time to enjoy the rest of the beautiful weather. Went to a post-race sailing party (am jealous of all that were on the water) and ate way too much bbq ribs and drank too much rum. =)

What I wore to work yesterday:

-black J.Crew ruffle cardigan
-dip dyed M+O racerback tank (excuse wrinkling) with grey ribbed tank underneath
-silver layer chain necklace
-M+O white bootcut jeans
-tan Bolo wedges
-Rebecca Minkoff Matinee bag in Glazed Almond

New Purchases

I may have overdone it with the shopping in the last week or so. I need to stop succumbing to the "deals" out there, but they are so tempting!

Madewell stores are having 25% off their sale items, so I picked up a couple cardigans for under $20 (navy half-sleeve one pictured here) and a tank for under $8!

I got the red card coupon J.Crew sent out for 25% off of in-store purchases in April -- got a couple of ruffle tanks (pictured here) and cardigans (do we sense a pattern here?)

I got my American Eagle rewards card in the mail for $20. Stopped by the store today and picked up this great lightweight scarf (grey/white print with splashes of seafoam shown here), another scarf, and a bandeau top to layer with for around $3 after my employee discount and the rewards card.

So even though I "scored" -- I would probably have been better off not buying anything and keeping my wallet happy!

Grey, Yellow, White

Cardigan: M+O cotton cardigan
Tee: M+O v-neck essential tee
Necklace: M+O chainlink
Jeans: M+O white bootcut denim
Shoes: tan Bolo wedges

Yup, I'm almost completely head-to-toe Martin + Osa today. But this was what I wore to work, I tend to overdo the M+O since I'm trying to sell the product, and what better way to do it than to wear it?

Crappy blackberry pic, didn't really feel like taking a real photo but wanted a quick snap!

In a Rut

Right now I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the volume of items in my closet, and wish I had always valued quality over quantity. I have several bags of items that I am going to donate to Goodwill, some with tags still on them! I need to officially throw away my sale goggles and take a break from shopping. There are so many irresistible deals out there (*sigh* at the J.Crew 25% off coupon) but I must be strong! I have a pretty good combination of both basics and stand out pieces in my closet, but I feel so boring right now. I have always worn lots of classics but now all I feel is very fuddy-duddy. But thanks to the lovely Internet, I have become slightly more inspired, so hopefully will be posting some new outfits soon. I haven't taken the time to take real photos lately (I loved my outfit today and wish I had documented it) but I do have a few quick pics taken with my Blackberry Curve (<3) that I will try to post.

Sushi + Yogurt = Best Night Ever

Had a great dinner at a sushi place downtown. There was a huge wait outside but our party of two made it in within 10 minutes! Ordered way too much but it was tasty all washed down with some Sapporo. Dessert was tart yogurt with mochi, fruity pebbles, and fresh mango. NOM NOM NOM.

New haircut -- not sure how I feel about it yet. I always regret bangs, but I always am wanting them back as soon as I grow them out.

First put on Topshop asymmetrical top, Paige jeans, and yellow croc printed patent peep toe heels, but it ended up being warmer than I thought out so I swapped out the Paiges for a pair of J.Crew cropped matchstick jeans and threw on a navy J.Crew ruffle cardigan (and also put some of my hair up in a J.Crew tortoise clip, which I don't love in the photo).

Now I'm home early because I am exhausted and have to work tomorrow. Boo.

Flowers & Studs

Floral silk top: M+O
Black studded belt: Forever 21
Jeans: M+O
Peep toed pumps: Enzo Angiolini

I've wanted a studded belt forever, a la Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie, but all the ones I've seen had either been too pricey, or too cheap looking for my taste. I found this great one (black studs on a black background) at Forever 21 in NYC.

The blouse is not a color palette I tend to reach for, but it was inexpensive and I thought it would go well with the belt I had just bought.

Pumps are EA Maylies, that are patent grey and textured.

Here is a closeup of the top and belt:
