Oh Happy Day!

What I'm wearing:
*J.Crew Turtleneck Sweater Dress (similar here & here)
*Forever 21 Necklace
*Hue Opaque Tights in Black
*Steve Madden Leopard Loafer
*Marc by Marc Jacobs Faridah in Electric Blue
*Burberry Brit Anorak in Olive

Merry Christmas! Absolutely love this time of year, I love spending quality time with my family and it always makes me appreciate all of my blessings. Hope everyone had a lovely holiday as well! After several days of lounging about in yoga inspired outfits (discovering lululemon has been a blessing and a curse), finally wore this look for Christmas service today. No white Christmas this year, instead it was a grey and rainy one, but I was cozy in this sweater dress that I found in my old closet. Paired with leopard loafers, this was such a comfortable outfit. I'm on vacation, I have absolutely no desire to wear anything but comfortable clothes until I have to go back to work next week.

Merry Christmas from Savannah, Louis, and Rosa! =)

My lil munchkin

Christmas Eve dinner (yum!!)

And I don't want Louis to feel left out...

Apologies for the gratuitous puppy photos, I really miss them and try to spend as much time with them as possible whenever I'm home. I feel so blessed to have been able to come home for the holidays this year, there have been years when I hadn't been able to, and I really treasure the time I get to spend with my family (& puppies). I also can't believe that 2011 is almost over. It's been a crazy kind of year with lots of ups and downs (luckily mostly ups in the end) but I have a lot to look forward to in 2012! Will be ringing in the new year back in NYC. Can't wait!!

Holiday Red

What I'm wearing:
*Forever 21 Bird Printed Dress
*Hue Classic Ribbed Tights in Red (c/o)
*Forever 21 Reading Glasses Necklace
*Frye Lisa T-Strap Mary Janes in Black
*Comptoir des Cotonniers Tweed and Leather Sleeved Coat (similar here)
*MICHAEL Michael Kors "Large Hamilton Tote" in Luggage
*Martin + Osa Large Cashmere Wrap in Grey

I knew when I saw these lovely red tights that I had to incorporate them somehow into an outfit this week. They are pretty vibrant so I wanted to keep the rest of the look pretty neutral with black and grey. What I'm pretty excited about is my new coat! I've had a jacket with leather sleeves on my wishlist for ages, but never found any that were in my price range. Found this tweed coat (the tweed has specks of different colors in it) heavily marked down at Bloomie's this weekend, and knew that it was meant to be. I have never tried anything from Comptoir des Cotonniers before, but I love this coat so much that I definitely want to check out the rest of the line soon.

Quick Snap: Holiday Party Part 2

What I'm wearing:
*H&M Sheer Olive Green Tunic
*anthropologie Crimson Bubbles Skirt
*Hue Opaque Tights in Black
*American Eagle Side-zip Ankle Boots in Black

Another holiday event, another day to wear sparkles! I really love this skirt, it just feels so holiday appropriate and festive. The bad thing (maybe good thing) is that this skirt is from a few years ago, and it currently too big. My solution to that was to fold the top band over, and to tie this blouse in the front to conceal that. I think it works! And now after seeing this photo I realize that my top isn't as opaque as I thought it was in my apartment. Luckily though it isn't as sheer in real life as in this photo, so no wardrobe malfunctions at work today!

China Glaze "Knotty" with "Party Hearty" on the tips
Trying to take advantage of the few weeks a year I can wear this glittery topcoat.

Sunny Festivities

What I'm wearing:
*Forever 21 Silky Tie Blouse in Bright Yellow
*Gap Sequin Skirt (similar here)
*Hue Opaque Tights in Black
*Sofft Mary Janes in Pewter Patent
*Rachel Nasvik "Penelope" Hobo in Grey

I love any excuse to wear sparkles, day or night, and what better reason than a holiday party? The hardest part of having a holiday party on a weeknight is finding the right balance between work and play. Luckily for me, no one would be surprised at me wearing a sequin skirt to work, so I decided to go all out in festive wear for the holidays!

Ruffles & Studs

What I'm wearing:
*Vince Striped Drape Cardigan (similar here)
*H&M Tiered Ruffle Dress
*Hue Opaque Tights in Black
*Taryn Rose Patent Criss-Cross Heels
*Rebecca Minkoff Studded Devote Tote in Black/Gold
*Martin + Osa Chain Necklace
*Vince Camuto Chain Toggle Bracelet

Happy Monday! I'm always sad when the weekends over, but I'm looking forward to several holiday events this week. Lots of opportunities to wear something fun and sparkly! Love this time of year, even though it's definitely a lot chillier out. Today I'm keeping cozy in this striped drape cardigan, it's a "hand me down" from my sister and it's just so comfortable!

Fun Friday Snaps

I know Instagram is pretty ubiquitous on the blogosphere, but I still have a lot of fun with it! Happy Friday! =)

Cozy & Shiny

What I'm wearing:
*Uniqlo Sweater Tunic
*Vintage Kissing Mice Belt (from eBay)
*Nordstrom Lace-trimmed Half Slip
*Hue Liquid Leggings (similar here)
*Nine West "Lucero" Pumps in Wine Patent
*Hayden-Harnett Drawstring Bag

These liquid leggings were a gag gift from my lovely friend A a few years ago. I thought they were hilarious but never really wore them. Then I figured, why not? I think the thick and cozy sweater tunic balances out the shiny leggings in a way that keeps me from looking like that weird creature from the American Horror Story previews.

Winter has definitely arrived in NY. It's definitely too cold to not be wearing socks, learned my lesson this morning. I should stick to tights or boots!

Zebras & Dots

What I'm wearing:
*Zara Polka Dot Knit Dress
*Madewell Denim Shirt (similar here)
*Gap Glitter Skinny Belt in Rose Gold (similar here)
*Hue Opaque Tights in Black
*Sofft Patent Mary Janes in Pewter
*Green Zebra Scarf from eBay (link)

There is a lot of layering going on here, but I think I like it. I'm always trying to make this particular denim shirt feel more feminine instead of lumberjack, and I think I succeeded by pairing it with my polka dot dress. Sometimes I feel my entire wardrobe is made up of stripes and dots...

I Just Came to Say Hello

What I'm wearing:
*J.Crew (outlet) Striped Sweater in Orange/Grey (similar here)
*Martin + Osa Ponte Knit Pants in Black
*anthropologie "Mint Drop" Necklace
*DV Dolce Vita "Aisha" Lace-up Boots in Taupe Suede
*Burberry Brit Anorak Jacket in Green
*MICHAEL Michael Kors "Large Hamilton Tote" in Luggage

I swear that this outfit didn't look so "Halloween"-ish when I first tried it on, but after seeing these photographs, I get a definite Halloween vibe from it, due to the orange and black color combination. These black ponte knit pants (that I can finally fit back into after a few years!) look a lot blacker in these photos than they do in real life. Found these at home while cleaning out my closet and was happy to find some black pants that fit, since these were on my "wishlist" for this season.
