I’ve been MIA for a few weeks now, but I’m back! Hopefully
back to regular posting from here on out. I love that neon is everywhere right
now, it’s super trendy but that means that there is more fun neon for me to
lust after! Picked up this skinny patent belt back in GA a few weeks ago at
Target, I’d been eyeing one from J.Crew for a while but the Target one is a
less costly alternative. The dress is my sister’s that I borrowed ages ago and
never bothered giving back (oops), figured I’d get a few more wears out of it
before the weather gets too hot for sleeves. It was so warm out this weekend, I
loved it. Spent some quality time in Central Park and on my roof (yes, the very
same roof where I take these photos) and think I got some color back into my
winter pale-ness. Can’t wait for full on summer, although I’ll probably be
singing a different tune once I start sweating the minute I step outside.
Lately I've been feeling very uninspired and lazy. I either hate what I'm wearing because all I want to do is be comfortable, or even if I like it, I don't have that motivation to get up a few minutes earlier and snap some real photos. To be honest, I haven't had a chance to take a vacation or personal day since Christmas, or see my family, and I've been feeling very burnt out. As much as I enjoy living in Manhattan, sometimes it's nice to get out of the city. So I finally headed down south for some much needed me time. This past weekend I ran the St Jude Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville, and now I'm spending a few days in sunny Georgia before heading back up north.
It's been very warm in both Nashville and Atlanta since I've been down here, and I'm loving it. After a long winter of pastiness, I'm excited to get some color. Definitely got some sun during the half marathon, and I've been trying to find excuses to lounge around outside. And also dress like a Florida retiree.
This summer will be the summer I truly embrace maxi dresses and skirts. I never realized how cool and comfortable they are! I picked up this floral number from Old Navy (while it was still freezing outside) for a mere $15, and dreamt about the day that it would finally be warm enough to wear. Well that day has come. Even though this dress hides any suggestion of what my shape is below, and I know that floor length is not the most flattering length for shorties like me, I absolutely love this dress! I think it's so fun, and the fact that it was on clearance in the dead of winter and brought me hope for warmer weather doesn't hurt.
