Nautical Stripes
It was a beautiful summer evening last night in downtown Annapolis! Went out for sushi and drinks and it was scrumptious. =)
I donned this adorable striped dress that may be my new favorite! I love the different sized stripes and it has pockets as well! I felt that the red stripes went well with the nautical themed town of Annapolis. This was taken downtown on City Dock, I love being close to the water!
Was able to get this boat in behind me in this shot
What I'm wearing:

Double Denim
Ok, so I love denim. I really missed being able to wear it while I was working in a business casual environment (we didn't even have Casual Fridays!) so now that I can wear it whenever I want, I've been loving it. Today, I am wearing two pieces of denim and neither of them are jeans!
What I'm wearing:
American Eagle denim strapless dress
J.Crew Flutter Bow cardigan in Heathered Aqua
polka dot chiffon slingbacks from Korea
Louis Vuitton denim bag
pearl cluster necklace from a local boutique
I do feel a bit librarian-ish in this get-up, although I'm pretty sure librarians don't wear denim dresses. I think its the mix of the seafoam cardigan and the pearls together.
Close-up of the cardigan and necklace
Wishful Thinking...
Here are the contents of my hypothetical anthropologie.com shopping cart....
Blurred Blossoms Top
I am really loving the colors in this top, and I know that it will work amazingly well under my vast cardigan collection.

Jewelry Box Tank
Saw this in store the other day, love the sewn in rhinestones. Would be a great layering piece as well.

Elimovna Coat
I keep thinking I may take the plunge on this coat. I tried it on in store the other day and I loved it! Most of my coats are pretty boring and in basic colors, I think this would be darling with dark denim tucked into boots. After trying it on I want it even more!!

So it's not as much as I thought it would be.... I am pretty content with my closet right now, even if I definitely have those "what in the world am I going to wear today?" moments. I should be focusing on purging the neglected items in my closet and either selling them or donating them.

Pea Soup
Never thought I'd buy a pea green sweater, but I fell for this ruffled cardigan from J.Crew. But it does really remind me of either pea soup or the mashed up sort of peas you feed babies. Yet I still was drawn to this color and I think I will wear it a ton this fall.
What I'm wearing:
J.Crew Ethereal Ruffle cardigan in Heathered Cypress
J.Crew skinny patent belt in Almond
Anthropologie skirt
Rebecca Minkoff Matinee bag in Glazed Almond
brown Ciao Bella lace-up booties
I realized I really didn't need yet another ruffle cardigan. I was trying to organize my closet a bit a few nights ago and realized I have so many ruffle cardigans! Even from just J.Crew alone I have this season's ethereal cardigan, last year's tartine cardigan, ruffle collar merino cardigan and the v-neck ruffle cardigan. If it has a ruffle, is a cardigan, and from J.Crew, apparently I need to own it in multiple colors.
I was playing around with a few things in my closet and my summer to fall transition uniform will probably be: cardigan, skirt, Rebecca Minkoff bag. Rinse and repeat.

Cotton Candy Clouds
What I'm wearing:
seafoam Martin + Osa silk cashmere sweater
anthropologie necklace
Corey Lynn Calter striped skirt
Aerosoles lace-up wedges
navy Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag
Michael Kors watch
I have had this striped skirt for at least half a year but just took the tags off today! I hate when that happens, I saw it in my dresser drawer today and knew I needed to wear it. It's a bit tough to pair tops with, the stripes are pink and grey. I originally thought I was going to go for navy, but felt that this light seafoam would work too.
(I apologize for low quality of photos, I had to crop it a bit and lost some of the quality. And I was too lazy to re-take the photo =P)
Closeup of necklace, I love how there are alternating colors and shapes of beads on this three strand necklace.
I can't believe August is almost over!!!! This summer has gone by way too fast. But I can't wait till Fall.... my favorite season! =)

Lazy Summer...
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been pretty busy with friends coming to town (yay!) and working a bit (boo!). Here is a quick snap from when a friend & I decided to drive into DC (it's so close yet I am usually too lazy to drive) for lunch and a day at the museums. This was taken at the National Gallery of Art!
What I'm wearing:
J.Crew turtle dress
Rebecca Minkoff Nikki purse in Leaf
gold Diane von Furstenberg Love Knot sandals

Butterfly Kisses
What I'm wearing:
anthropologie Million Monarch chemise (this is totally in the sleepwear section, but I'm going to pretend it's a real dress)
anthropologie Stormy Seas necklace (I also have this in yellow, T absolutely hates this necklace but i love it so!)
black suede Aldo Maune wedges
gold chain mail Martin + Osa bracelet
Just trying to keep cool this August. My solution - wear thin jersey dresses. They are easy and breezy and amazingly comfortable. I adore the butterflies on this 'dress' and the asymmetrical sleeves. It's hard to see the draping detail in this photograph but I love it!

Friday Florals
Wore this lovely wrap dress out to dinner on Friday night. T & I celebrated two years of dating! Our anniversary was technically on Saturday, but I had to work that night so we celebrated a night early. Went to this great steak restaurant in town, it's not somewhere we go all the time, we like to save it for special occasions. Had a delicious greek salad and filet mignon. =) And lots of wine of course!
What I'm wearing:
Diane von Furstenberg Celosa dress in Large Wildflower Yellow
gold Diane von Furstenberg Love Knot sandals

Nice & Breezy
Ok, seriously Maryland, the humidity is killing me slowly. I did a half hearted attempt to straighten my hair today and gave up eventually. Luckily I don't have to be anywhere special today, this was my attempt at staying cool while running some errands.
What I'm wearing:
anthropologie Flourishing Filigree top
mint green American Eagle shorts
tan Nine West Heech wedges
beaded ring from Korea
Disney charm bracelet
Forever 21 sunglasses
The detailing on this lightweight top is amazing! I love the beading and the embroidery, it's a look I haven't really found at any of the cheaper stores (i.e. Forever 21) when I was looking for a similar top. I'm hoping I can wear it into the fall with jeans. I am always paranoid about wearing white though, even though I love the way it looks.
Sorry for the terrible photo of one of my favorite rings. It's made out of beads, and I got it while I was in Korea years and years ago. I'm always nervous it will break and the beads will scatter everywhere and I will never find another ring like this again, so I don't wear it too often. I thought they'd match my shorts though. Wish i took a photo of my Disney charm bracelet, I am a kid at heart and I got it last time i was at Walt Disney World.

Wavelet Blouse
Super excited about this blouse that I ordered from anthropologie. I have a love/hate relationship with anthropologie, I've been avoiding it for months but after seeing this adorable top on Anthroholic I knew I had to have it. The cycle began again, and I definitely got sucked in. I love anything grey, and I love the scallop detailing. I was nervous about sizing as I ordered it online, but the size I got fits perfectly. I do wish that it was a smidgen longer (since I have a freakishly long torso, I hate how you can see the top of my jeans) but I still adore it and recommend it to anyone who is debating it.
I was having a terrible day and its funny how a little thing like a top can cheer me up!
What I'm wearing:
Anthropologie Wavelet blouse
Seven for all Mankind jeans (no idea what style or wash)
pearl cluster necklace from a local boutique
Miu Miu pumps (that you can't really see)
Target beach hat

Hodgepodge
What I'm wearing:
grey Gap ruffle tank
blue striped J.Crew (outlet) skirt
thrifted belt
mint suede J.Crew pumps
lemondrop Anthropologie necklace
Forever 21 aviators
Wore this on a sushi lunch date with myself. I haven't eaten by myself at a non-quick service place in ages. I used to do it all the time, when I worked at an office in Georgetown, because there were so many awesome places to check out close by. Lately though I've either been eating lunch at home or grabbed a quick bite at the mall on my lunch break from work. Today I was definitely in the mood for sushi, had the day off, didn't really have anyone to go with. Splurged on lunch and got both the sushi combo (with california rolls) and an order of soba noodles (cold buckwheat noodles). What I'm truly craving is Korean food, but that is super hard to find in Annapolis. I miss my umma's cooking!
I love the anthropologie necklace that I'm wearing, I bought it ages ago (when I worked there) but only recently spied it in my jewelry box (I need to organize better). I am a sucker for yellow necklaces, I think they are always a fun splash of color to any outfit. It's hard to tell in this photo but I love that some of the stones are cloudy while others are clear.
Here is a closeup of my skirt and belt. The skirt is more blue in real life, but I just wanted to show the stripes. It also has pockets and is super lightweight, it is one of my favorite skirts for summer. The belt I got for $2 at Goodwill in Baltimore!

Ice Cold
Have a bunch of errands to run, so just a quick outfit post!
What I'm wearing:
J.Crew twist front dress (I have this in navy too, love it)
yellow Anthropologie collar necklace
gold BCBG sandals
I'm standing on the deck that leads to my new front door!
Hello Again
It hasn't even been a week since I blogged, but I have been feeling a bit neglectful! The icky weather and busy work schedule has kept me from being inspired fashionwise. Lately my daily uniform has been cut off denim mini, tshirt, and ultra-comfy havaianas. But it hadn't been all work and no play! Last night I was invited by a friend to the Orioles/Red Sox baseball game at Camden Yards in Baltimore. I am not a huge fan of baseball, but I am a huge fan of beer.
I had a great time, even though Red Sox fans can get a bit annoying (sorry guys!). I was worried that it was going to rain, but it ended up only drizzling a bit while we were walking to the game. Afterwards we went out for a few more drinks and ended up even dancing. =) All in all it was a great time. Even if the Red Sox won. I did see some creative Red Sox gear at the game, I wish I had brought my camera!
Earlier this week I caught the movie "500 Days of Summer". I have a serious girl crush on Zooey Deschanel so I had to see this. I hadn't really seen any previews for this movie, but I had heard that it was good, so we went to check it out. I absolutely loved it. It was funny, cute, and sad, all rolled into one great movie to watch. I went to watch it with a guy friend, and he even admitted to enjoying the movie! He was a bit reluctant at first after hearing the words "romantic comedy".
Everytime I watch a movie with Zooey in it, I want to go back to getting my bangs trimmed (currently they are grown out and I pin them back daily). I know as soon as I do this I will regret it, but she just has the best hair. Her style in this movie is fantastic as well, very vintage inspired and cute but not fussy.
The movie also had a great soundtrack. I went home and downloaded it immediately from iTunes. My favorite is probably the Regina Spektor song "Us" (I heart her so so much). Also love The Smiths' "There is a Light that Never Goes Out".
You can't see the dress very well in this shot but it is absolutely gorgeous:
Absolutely adored this wallpaper:
I'm going to be out of town starting on Tuesday for a week, but I promise I will try to update when I get back!
Also definitely wanted to give some shoutouts to a couple of friends who just started blogging! =) Check out my friend Alli's blog Fashion Habit and Kim's Anthroholic blog.
I can't believe it's already freaking August!!!! Where does the time go? I can't believe the summer is almost over.... this makes me sad. And I need another mojito.
