What I'm wearing:
*J.Crew (outlet) Gingham Shirt (similar here)
*H&M Faded Olive Pocket Skirt (similar here)
*Forever 21 Elastic Woven Belt (other colors here)
*French Sole Welsh Flats in Peach
*MICHAEL Michael Kors Knotted Purse in Cognac (sample)
*Michael Kors Horn Jet Set Watch
I just love checkered shirts. There's just something so home-y, downright comfortable about them. This soft color combination came together because I wanted something easy to wear and low maintenance. Soft cotton is definitely the way to go for that. Love the purple color as well, I like it in a print because it gives off less of a Barney vibe.
With these sort of gingham shirts there is a chance of looking a bit like a tablecloth, which I wanted to avoid. I think the bow flats and fun belt make my look more whimsical, less Big Love compound.
I've been looking for a green skirt for ages and had been unsuccessful, until I found this elastic waisted H&M piece. My favorite part? The deep pockets, handy for both cell phones and snacks.
Hmm, what have we here? There is a very strong possibility that there is some candy in my pocket.
As of today I will be away from my laptop for about a week and a half (maybe more). Thanks to the wonderful technology that is my Blackberry, I will still receive emails and be able to read everyone's comments, but I just wanted to let everyone know why I may seem to be MIA. Do not fret, there will be posts throughout this time - yesterday I snapped some fall outfits that I can't wait to wear and share with y'all, and there will be some guest posts! =)
I love snack pockets! :) That skirt looks really great on you. I like how you styled it with lighter accents in the belt and shoes rather than black - the lighter ones seem much more unexpected and summery.
ReplyDeleteI really like this look. All the patterns and textures shouldn't work but it does, looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable! You look very cute today. :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought purple checkers could go with green, but you have proven me wrong!
ReplyDeleteYou are so inventive with your color combinations and find the coolest items in unexpected places. Wonderful style :)
ReplyDeleteI want this skirt so badly now! Because I'm so short and wide-ish, I don't think it would look fabulous on me, but it is STUNNING on you. Those pockets are awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic, but comfy at the same time. :)
Love that skirt....
ReplyDeleteYou look DARLING Rosa! One of my favorite outfits in a while -- so casual, so chic :) And I love how you always talk about big pockets in terms of snacks, it makes me smile!! (Also I am going to have to track this skirt down for sure now, because cuteness + snackability means I am super happy too!)
ReplyDeleteI love how you matched purple with olive :)
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
Adorable - what an unexpectedly chic take on gingham!
ReplyDeleteCute combination! I tried on the H&M skirt (in black), but I didn't have the right top so it just looked awkward. Plus I wasn't sure if it looked like I had saddlebags on my hips. But it looks fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love the purple and green together with the brown bag and belt.
