Just My Imagination

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Herb Field Cardigan
*anthropologie Necklace Tank (similar here and here)
*H&M Bird Skirt
*anthropologie Looping Lanes Belt (similar here and here)
*Matt Bernson Love Sandals in Gold Souffle (similar here and here)

I am loving the jump in temperature! And it's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. Wheeee! Now here's to hoping the weather stays consistent... but I won't hold my breath.

The Herb Fields Cardigan may be my new favorite cardigan. I just love open, drapey cardigans, and the moss + lavender combination is so unique. The heathered moss is pretty subtle, when I first saw the cardigan in dim light I just thought it was grey. (See it on Kim here).

I know I just wore this bird skirt from H&M already (see how I wore it before), but I just love the fun print, and it's super lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Someone Hide My Wallet

New anthropologie arrivals always make me happy! I love seeing what they come up with next, and what crazy combinations those stylists create.

How darling is this print-mixed ensemble? The Chocolate Chip Dress is to die for, and I love it combined with the Ambrosial Cardigan. The black and white dots go great with the vibrant colors in the floral cardigan. This look is just fantastic! It makes me happy just to look at it.

I love jersey knit dresses in the summer, and the Drifting Feathers Dress has a lovely print that isn't too over the top. The sash is removable so it would look great with a contrasting belt over it, or a coral colored cardigan layered on top.

I squealed when I saw this belt + skirt combination! The City Safari Belt layered over the It's Your Move Skirt is absolutely darling! I love the fun colored dots on the skirt, they remind me of funfetti cupcakes. These two items are definitely coming home with me eventually!

I love Splendid's soft cardigans, and this Percussive Cardigan with its stripes looks adorable! I always love the color navy, and the draping makes this a little different from other open cardigans. Love it layered with the Soft Edges Tee and Heatwave Shorts.

How gorgeous is this Submerged Watercolor Maillot? The colors are beautiful and it would be perfect for lounging on a chaise by the pool in a gorgeous locale like Belize. The strapless style makes it impractical for actually swimming in the ocean, but makes it perfect for sunbathing.

Navy + kelly green = WIN for me most of the time. Love the fun daisy print on the Gaillardia Skirt. Love the striped tee tucked in, and the City Safari Belt adds some whimsy to this look.

The Lift-Off Jacket is back! But this time in cream (see the olive one on me here). It's so cute and a perfect topper to pair with both dresses and jeans. I think it would also look cute with a simple tee and patterned shorts. The cream color is so neutral and would look great with anything!

The Sweet Shoppe Dress is so darling and delectable! The lighter color makes me nervous (I could totally see myself spilling barbecue sauce on the dress) but it's just so cute I may want to risk it after all! Would be perfect for grabbing a sundae or shake at the local ice cream parlour.

Yet another ruffled tank from anthro that I can't resist! The Nexus Top has ruffles galore! Would look sharp underneath a slim cut blazer or cardigan

I wouldn't have looked twice at this top if it weren't for Kim's review! It is so cute and feminine, and looks great under the Herb Fields Cardigan, which is a combo I never would have tried but now I'm dying for it!

Well those are my faves at the moment! (The wishlist is now just getting way too long.)

Sugar Sweet Sunshine

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Lemon Squares Jacket (similar here and here)
*aerie Striped Boatneck Shirt (similar here and here)
*J Brand Skinny Crops in Ink (similar here)
*Clarks Divine Mary Janes in Cognac (similar here)

I wasn't really sure what to make of this Lemon Squares Jacket, but the sunny yellow color was calling my name. I think it's a great layering piece for this transitional weather we are having. I do think it has an identity issue though, it seems more dress like than jacket like to me (it's probably the short sleeves). I think this would also look adorable with a longer printed skirt peeking out from underneath it.

Soft & Cozy

What I'm wearing:
*BCBG Cashmere Slouchy Sweater (similar here and here)
*Forever 21 Tank in White (similar here)
*Black Madewell Skinny Jeans (similar here and here)
*Miu Miu Naplack Patch Flats in Rosso (similar here)
*H&M Jacket in Green (similar here)
*H&M Polka Dot Scarf (similar here)
*MICHAEL Michael Kors Hamilton Tote in Luggage (similar here)

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day eventually! Had yummy tacos with my sister yesterday, then shared a slice of cake and a piece of pie at Two Little Red Hens with a little hot chocolate to warm us up after we got rained on. Then I made it out to Brooklyn (I'd never been before) and got to watch Kick-Ass, which I loved!!! (That Hit Girl is just so badass I love her). And I learned again yesterday that there is almost nothing in the world a couple of pints of Guinness and laughter can't fix.

Today's outfit is another kind of bumming around outfit. I just really wanted to be comfortable! This slouchy sweater is super soft and just so easy to wear. Kind of shapeless but I don't mind.

These Miu Mius are possibly one of my favorite flats ever. I coveted them for ages, and finally found them on sale!! I have the heeled version of these in the nude color, and I just think they are beautiful to look at. Love the spectator detail and the colorblock design.

This is another awesome cheap H&M buy that my sister scored! Such a fun vibrant color and I love the teenie polka dots. Adds some fun color to my outfit today. The dots didn't photograph so well in the pic above so I decided to take a closer up one.

Of course I'm a little peeved that the days that I was off the weather is terrible and the days I'm stuck indoors are supposed to be gorgeous!!! Why does that always happen?

I Should Have Known Better

What I'm wearing:
*Forever 21 Dolman Sweater (similar here and here)
*J.Crew (outlet) Printed Mini (similar here)
*KBell Knee High Socks from Costco (similar here)
*Michael Kors Townsend Oxfords (similar here and here)
*Forever 21 Giraffe Necklace (similar here and here)
*Michael Kors Oversized Black Watch

So today has just been one of those days. I couldn't decide what to wear, this outfit was hastily put together, and I just couldn't take any decent photos (I don't know why I'm always touching my hair in pics). My hair was originally down but it just looked terrible so I had to put it up, and I don't actually like this outfit after all. I may just give up and put on some jeans and a sweatshirt. And some sunglasses to hide behind.

I have a lot to do today that I don't want to do!! There is laundry that needs to be done, my room is a disaster thanks to Savannah emptying the contents of my hamper and my clothing cubbies on the floor, and I need to go grocery shopping. Ok, enough whining from me. I also have some things to look forward to: Mexican for lunch & possibly a movie later! (Has anyone seen Kick-Ass, how is it?)

Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Tartan Rose Tieback in Neutral (I have a M in the other colorway for sale here)
*Martin + Osa High Button Cardigan (similar here and here)
*J Brand Skinny Crops in Ink (similar here)
*Frye Dorado Slouch Boots (similar here)
*anthropologie Two Paths Trench (similar here and here)
*Urban Outfitters Printed Scarf (similar here and here)
*Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Bag in Leaf (similar here and here)

I know it may be overkill to have both the Bold Boutonniere Dress (see it on me here) and the Tartan Rose Tieback, but I just love the flower detail in the front. I hope I get as much wear out of this top as I have of the dress.

Rainy days just make me want to stay at home and listen to relaxing music (like the song from the title of my post). Venturing outside doesn't appeal to me, but if I have to, I might as well try to look cute right? I bought the Two Paths Trench a while ago, but I haven't been able to wear it because my sister has been wearing the heck out of it! So I decided to take it back today (muhaha). I can't wait until the weather finally turns around!

Well, Diamonds They Fade

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Caricaturist Tunic (similar here and here)
*Martin + Osa Ribbed Cotton Cardigan (similar here and here)
*Hue Leggings (similar here and here)
*Kate Spade Marli Too Suede Wedge in Purple (diff. color here and similar here)
*Michael Kors Black Oversized Watch

Yay for the weekend! =) This is a super casual outfit that I feel absolutely comfortable in (mostly in part to the leggings). I thought that the plaid ruffle Caricaturist Tunic was adorable with its fun bright colors, and it's on sale too.

Do any other bloggers have some days where they just don't know what to write? I'm having one of those days right now...

*Thanks to Gigi for featuring me on her blog! You can read "5 Minutes with Love at First Shop" here! Her blog is a great resource and always a pleasure to read!

*I have a great giveaway coming up once I reach 400 followers! Get excited. =)

Good Girls Go Bad

What I'm wearing:
*Patterson J. Kincaid Leopard Printed Top (similar here and here)
*H&M Denim Shorts (similar here and here)
*Aldo Maune Suede Lace-up Wedges (similar here and flat version here)
*Forever 21 Vintage Tulip Earrings
*Foley & Corinna City Tote in Aqua (similar here and here)

So it's not really shorts weather quite yet, but I was determined to wear them to lunch today (yay for bento boxes!). It was definitely sunny and warm when I was out and about, but as I'm typing this right now clouds are rolling in and I bet it's going to rain.... boo. If I want to wear this top later I'll probably pair it with some skinny jeans. I love this, it is really good at hiding a food belly! (Sophia is the one that ordered this, she got a great deal at shopbop).

They Made a Statue Of Us

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Buds & Bunches Tee in Beige (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Flipside Blazer (similar here and here)
*H&M Bird Skirt (similar here and here)
*Forever 21 Center Heart Elastic Belt
*BCBG Gold Flat Sandals (similar here and here)
*Foley & Corinna City Tote in Aqua (similar here and here)
*Michael Kors Black Oversized Watch (similar here)

I'm really happy with the way this outfit turned out. This look makes me feel all feminine and girly, but not too over the top. I think the blazer keeps it from being too frilly.

The Buds & Bunches Tee has everything I love all rolled into one top: rosettes, ruching, and braided straps.

....and my accumulation of bird themed clothing items continues. I fell in love with this skirt after seeing it on Tara, and I just happened to stop by an H&M on my way home from work one day, and the skirt just happened to be right in front of me

I'm really excited to put my Foley & Corinna City Tote back into my bag rotation! The bright color is a bit loud but I absolutely love it. I bought it for a great price at the F&C sample sale a few years back, I went when I was visiting my friend K. She ended up snagging the same bag!

The weather in the city is just gorgeous today! Beautiful weather to walk around and just soak up the fresh air.

You Are My Sweetest Downfall

What I'm wearing:
*J.Crew V-neck Ruffle Cardigan (similar here)
*aerie Scoop-Neck Tank (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Rhona Skirt (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Night Flora Sandals (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Stormy Seas Necklace (similar here and here)
*Michael Kors Black Oversized Watch (similar on sale here!)

Whenever I wear a white top and black bottom, it gives me flashbacks to my middle school years when you had to dress this way for orchestra concerts. But apparently I can wear a white top to work if its under a black layer, so I decided to branch out from my all black ensembles. You can't see the details of this outfit *at all* but I think it looks alright in real life.

The Rhona Skirt is going to be a staple in my summer wardrobe for sure. It's made out of a nice heavy linen, and I love the bow! (And of course the pockets. I can hide some serious snackage in those pockets.)

So in love with the Night Flora Sandals. Since I was seriously lacking in all-black footwear, these were a great buy. I think they'd be perfect for the summer with a simple black dress. The flowers make them a bit more whimsical than a simple gladiator sandal. They run a bit narrow, but I am determined to make them work for my wide-ish feet.

The Stormy Seas Necklace is definitely one of my favorites, and one that I don't wear often enough. I thought it added a nice pop of color!

Thanks for all the get-well-soon wishes! I'm alright, just feeling under the weather a bit still, and armed with lots of blush and bronzer to at least not scare my co-workers. My hair is a lost cause though.

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Molded & Melded Tee in Red
*J.Crew Ruffle Neck Cardigan in Navy (similar here)
*anthropologie Sidestep Skirt (similar here and here)
*Sofft Mary Janes in Pewter (similar here)
*Michael Kors Horn Jet Set Watch (similar here)

Sorry about the inconsistency of updates lately. I haven't been feeling too well, and the last thing I want to do is take a photo of myself. I've had the Molded & Melded Tee for awhile, but I just wasn't sure what to pair it with. It's super soft and comfortable, but I thought that plain jeans would be too boring. So I went with the Sidestep skirt, which I did wear in the fall but thought it would look great in the spring as well.

The color is definitely more heathered in real life than in my outfit photos, for some reason it looks a lot brighter. I absolutely adore the detailing on this top, I think that it is a lot of fun and is still easy to pair with different bottoms.

I've been a bit behind on catching up on my favorite blogs! I'll be sure to check out all of you lovelies very soon. =)

You Know That I'm No Good

What I'm wearing:
*Black Drape Top, brand unknown (similar here and here)
*Forever 21 Black Skinny Jeans (similar here)
*Forever 21 Pearl Bib Necklace (similar here)
*MICHAEL Michael Kors Platform Peep-toe Pumps (similar here and here)
*Michael Kors Black Oversized Watch

This is another one of those all-black outfits paired with shoes that I would never actually wear to work, but thinking about wearing my boring black flats all day makes me sad. (I actually caved on a pair of cute all-black sandals that are on their way to me, which I'm very excited about.) This top I've had for years, I bought it at a Nashville boutique, and the label says "Topshop" but I doubt very much that it is actually from the TopShop. It is super comfortable, and the drape is always flattering in my opinion.

These shoes are hot. I feel instantly sexy when I put them on. There is a cute button detail on the back heel that you can kind of see in this photo that just makes the shoe!

Wearing all black makes me feel like a ninja. If this post doesn't seem that cohesive its probably because I'm kind of out of it right now. I had a minor medical issue yesterday so I'm not feeling so hot right now. Yesterday was spent snuggling with Savannah, eating cupcakes, and watching BBC's Pride & Prejudice.  The weather hasn't really been cooperating lately either. I want it to be warm so I can wear cute spring clothes!! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I've Got My Toes in the Water

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Banderole Top (similar here)
*J.Crew Ruffle Collar Cardigan in Navy (similar here)
*Martin + Osa Slim Fit Bedford Cords in Olive (similar here and here)
*Forever 21 Beaded Necklace (similar here and here)
*Aerosoles Splurge Lace-Up Slingbacks (similar here)
*Longchamp Le Pliage Mini Duffle (in a diff. color here)
*Michael Kors Horn Jet Set Watch

The print of this tank reminds me of yacht club burgees (a flag unique to a particular club) and I love the nod to the nautical theme. The brand is "We Love Vera", which I have been loving lately! I'm a big fan of their Stamp Art Dress (see it on me here) and I have a cute mug of theirs that I use almost every day.

This outfit is a blatant imitation of this anthropologie catalogue photo! The pants are not the same, but when I saw this photo I remembered I had the Martin + Osa Bedford Cords in Olive that would go perfectly. I definitely need to get more creative.

I'm off to enjoy the beautiful day before it gets all icky again for the weekend. =/

This song just makes me want to sit by the beach (or at least the pool) and sip on some mojitos.... yum.

Review: anthropologie Cockadoodle Dress

I was really excited to see the anthropologie Cockadoodle Dress marked down! Even though I *hate hate hate* birds in real life (my friends will attest to this) I decided I needed this adorable sundress. I also loved the happy kelly green color. It took me a bit to write this review because after I received it in the mail, I broke the zipper while trying it on (I have no idea how). I decided I was too lazy to go to the store to exchange it, so I had it fixed at the nearby tailors for $6 and just got it back today.

I loved this photo of the dress on the model. I was concerned that it would be too long on me, but it's actually the perfect sundress length for me. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the dress once I received it, but after trying it on it is love!

First off the construction of the dress is fantastic. I love the sweetheart neckline, and the fabric doesn't seem flimsy nor the embroidery seem prone to unraveling. It is a halter dress, which I usually avoid but thanks to my new fantastic strapless bra (seriously, this thing works miracles), I'm comfortable and confident wearing this halter dress. And don't forget the pockets! Gotta have pockets...

Sizing wise I took a 4, which is my "usual" anthropologie dress size. It's always a crapshoot when I order online, but after working retail and just shopping at anthropologie regularly I have become better at guessing which size I would need (reviews on the site are also helpful).

Here is a closer look at the dress. The buttons go all the way down the dress and they are working buttons. This is in addition to the side zip that I mentioned earlier, which is nice. Sometimes dresses with side zips (that don't go all the way up) can be a pain to put on over your head. In the second photo you can see the snaps that were incorporated to make sure the dress doesn't pull in the wrong spots.

How cute are the embroidered roosters? They are adorable and don't give me the heebie-jeebies (like real roosters do).

I decided that this orange pair of MICHAEL Michael Kors sandals (thanks Sophia!) would complement the kelly green of the dress. I may be wrong, but I think this shoe may be a true sample, since the style name that was written on the bottom doesn't really match up to the shoe that goes by the name currently. You can see similar pairs here and here. In this photo I am also wearing a Forever 21 Jersey Knit Bow Headband. No OOTD post today because it was extremely unremarkable (black tunic, black leggings, black flats). But I'll be back tomorrow with one!
