Southern Living

What I'm wearing:
*Old Navy Tiered Black & White Floral Maxi Dress (similar here)
*J.Crew (outlet) Sheer Cardigan in Aqua (similar here)
*Jack Rogers "Navajo" Sandals in White with Silver Trim
*Rebecca Minkoff Studded Nikki Bag in Almond
*anthropologie Lemon Drop Necklace
*Forever 21 Flower Headband

Lately I've been feeling very uninspired and lazy. I either hate what I'm wearing because all I want to do is be comfortable, or even if I like it, I don't have that motivation to get up a few minutes earlier and snap some real photos. To be honest, I haven't had a chance to take a vacation or personal day since Christmas, or see my family, and I've been feeling very burnt out. As much as I enjoy living in Manhattan, sometimes it's nice to get out of the city. So I finally headed down south for some much needed me time. This past weekend I ran the St Jude Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville, and now I'm spending a few days in sunny Georgia before heading back up north.

It's been very warm in both Nashville and Atlanta since I've been down here, and I'm loving it. After a long winter of pastiness, I'm excited to get some color. Definitely got some sun during the half marathon, and I've been trying to find excuses to lounge around outside. And also dress like a Florida retiree.

This summer will be the summer I truly embrace maxi dresses and skirts. I never realized how cool and comfortable they are! I picked up this floral number from Old Navy (while it was still freezing outside) for a mere $15, and dreamt about the day that it would finally be warm enough to wear. Well that day has come. Even though this dress hides any suggestion of what my shape is below, and I know that floor length is not the most flattering length for shorties like me, I absolutely love this dress! I think it's so fun, and the fact that it was on clearance in the dead of winter and brought me hope for warmer weather doesn't hurt.

  3. I can't believe that's an Old Navy dress! It looks way more expensive than it is.

  4. Forever 21 turns out to be such a great source for costume jewelry, especially statement necklaces. Thanks for the recommendation!
