I'll Be Back...

I know it's been over a week since I've updated, which is pretty unusual for me, but I promise I'll be back soon! Life has just been crazy busy for me (in both good and bad ways) and I've been sick for a few days and wearing the first thing I grabbed in the morning. I desperately need to catch up on my favorite blogs, but don't worry I haven't given up on this! 

And just for fun, this is my favorite shot that I'm obsessed with! Spicy pickleback = shot of Jameson followed by a shot of pickle juice with some hot sauce. Sounds weird but it's delicious! =)

Not sure why I look so grumpy in this first photo. Sadly I think that is one of the better ones from the set that I snapped this morning. I also inadvertently sent the remote to my camera home with my dad (tucked into a pocket) so I'm using my point and shoot's self timer and it is making me cranky. Also, working late and waking up early always sucks. I feel like I don't look my best until I've had some caffeine in me.

Not sure what I was looking at in this photo. I'm really happy with the way this outfit turned out. When I saw this bib top I instantly thought of my scalloped dots skirt to pair it with. I love how sometimes when I buy something new, it helps me put some of my older favorites into rotation.

It's a gorgeous day outside! There's nothing like starting your morning off with some Lynyrd Skynyrd!

I picked up this sunny melon colored skirt in the dead of winter and am excited I can finally wear it. The bright color just made me instantly think about sunshine, tanned skin, and drinking watermelon margaritas outside. So of course even though there was snow on the grown, I bought this skirt dreaming of the upcoming warm weather. Chambray shirt with a ruffle AND a bow? I'm there. The high neck gives off a sister-wife vibe to me, but I couldn't step away from it.

Is anyone else obsessed with Rebecca Black as much as I am? I'm pretty sure my friends were going to murder me this weekend because I couldn't stop singing it. It's been a permanent fixture in my head for a couple of days now. It's so bad that it is amazing!!!! If you haven't seen it, you can watch it here.

Ok, Happy St. Patrick's Day!! But this dress is my favorite to wear on this holiday. For some reason, St. Patty's Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Probably because I love green, it falls near my birthday, I love beer, and it always signals the beginning of spring. Also, can you tell how excited I am that I'm not wearing tights???? The weather is beautiful... it's going to be a great day! =)

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for bunnies. They are so cute and cuddly, even if they are troublesome and smelly sometimes. That's why when I saw the re-launch of this bunny dress by Erin Fetherston, I knew I had to get it. Love the adorable bunnies bounding all over the place, and I think the black background keeps it from being too girly. I feel like I say that often on the blog, "this is very frilly and girly, but (blank) tones it down a bit". That probably describes my style in a nutshell.

Black tights are normally my choice of legwear, but bright tights are showing up all over the place for spring and I'm jumping on the bandwagon! These hot pink tights are so much fun, and I think they brighten up this outfit perfectly.

I told you I love bunnies! I had to wear my favorite etsy necklace with this dress, how could I not?

Was in a hurry this morning and totally blanked on what to wear today. This in-between weather is confusing me. So of course I resorted to the dress + cardigan look. A bit boring, but I haven't worn this sweater or dress in forever and I felt like they deserved to be worn! The cardigan was bought a few years ago when I was obsessed with J.Crew, and was on major sale so I picked up a few colors. Love the simple ruffle trim.

Some have asked me about my office bathroom photos, so I decided to put my process out there. I don't have a good full length mirror at home for taking photos, so I have to use the office bathroom if I don't have time to run out and take photos outside. I don't blog at work, so I usually write up my blog entry on my phone on the way to work so it's ready to post when I get here. Then all I have to do is run to the restroom, snap a pic, upload it, and there we have it! Luckily the bathroom is empty most of the time, I usually wait until there is no one in there to take a picture. I've been "caught" before but it doesn't really bother me to be honest. It's just like when I take photos outside my apartment, I've stopped being so self-conscious. I of course prefer to take "real photos" versus photos from my iphone, but I like to use this blog as sort of an outfit log, and sometimes I just don't have time to take a picture! Now if only I had a photographer boyfriend... =)

I was thrilled to see that Target was bringing back a select few dresses from previous Go International Designer Collaborations. (Shop the new dresses here.) I missed out on the Jovovich-Hawk collection the first time, but I quickly snapped up this flowy polka dot number this time around. I love polka dots, and lately I've been looking for nice dresses that have sleeves, and I love the flowiness of the sleeves as well.

I had an amazing birthday on Saturday! I got to celebrate turning 26 with some of my closest friends, and had a wonderful day. I feel like so much has happened in the past year, 25 was full of lots of ups and downs, but I think I came out on top. Saturday started off with a champagne-full brunch, went to a fun St. Patrick's Day party, and then just had a great night. I don't have an OOTD from yesterday but here is a fun pic. I pretty much wore this outfit again. Apparently I am loving dots lately!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Tomorrow is my birthday, so I'm a little bummed that I'm turning one year older, but am excited that it is on a Saturday for the first time in a very long time. Having brunch with some girlfriends and hopefully squeezing in some basketball watching (love March Madness!). 

Also how gorgeous are these?? My family sent these to my office today and I love them! My favorite part: the card was signed Love, Mom, Dad, Sophia, Teresa, Louis, and Savannah. Miss both my family & my puppies!

I really wanted an outfit that could transition easily from work to a date afterwards. I still wear these Tucker for Target dresses to death. They are so easy to wear and I love the prints. This diamond print is probably my favorite. This was definitely a work appropriate look, but also felt cute for my date afterwards.

I know I've been slacking with the posts lately, so I apologize! Hopefully with the weather slowly turning nicer I'll be more motivated to snap some photos in the morning. Luckily it was gorgeous out this past Saturday, and I was able to wear a couple of new spring pieces I picked up from Forever 21.

Both the striped dress and the drapey knit cardigan were <$20, and I think they definitely have an anthro vibe about them. I like the way that they look together but I think they would look cute with other items in my closet too. I'm trying to cut back on my shopping lately but I couldn't resist these cheap little add ons to my closet.

This is what happens when I go shopping on my lunch break. I am obsessed with cross body bags lately because they are just so easy to wear! I love that my hands are free to do whatever I need, and in the city it's annoying to schlep around a cumbersome bag. Which is probably why I wear my Alexa and MAC s so often.

I saw this on AE's website and decided I needed to have it! It reminds me of the famous Alexander Wang bags, but is in a much more wallet friendly price range. This photo doesn't really capture the true color that well, which is more of a mustard yellow. I think it'll be perfect in spring/summer to wear with all my printed dresses!

I really can't believe it's March already! Where did the first two months of 2011 go! Well this year has brought me a lot of changes, both good and bad, but I'm looking forward to what the rest of the year brings me.

After having spent the winter in skinnies and leggings, it feels weird to be wearing normal flared jeans. They seem a bit dated to me, but I love that it's not so cold that I can't wear flats with my jeans anymore. Totally over boots.
