haven't had a dream in a long time

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Ruffle Cardigan in Mustard
*LOFT Flutter Neck Shell in Clear Blue
*anthropologie Echolocation Skirt
*anthropologie Snakebite Belt in Grey
*Target Katherine Engineer Boots in Brown

I hate how after the holidays you see old Christmas trees thrown to the curb, waiting to be collected. I was a little sad that I didn't have a tree in my apartment this year, and to see these sad trees made me a bit sad too. Oh well, there is always next year!

The cool blue shade of this Flutter Neck Shell is what caught my eye in the store. I love the print and ruffles of course. I had to take a pair of scissors to snip off the ribbon ties that hung in the front of this top, but now it is exactly as I like it. It's a light cotton material that will be perfect for the summer, but it can still be worn now layered with a cardigan. I love it when I buy something new and can wear it right away, even if it is a spring item.

Even though I did let myself get a few new items for spring this weekend, I'm still trying to get a lot of wear out of items that were already in my closet. Both the mustard ruffle cardigan and the tiered skirt are from anthropologie Fall 2008, and I got the boots about a year ago from Target.

Yes, I'm looking at you!

Love this print.

Back at work today! At least it's a 4-day week... I have some fun outfits planned for this upcoming week! I'm determined to show improvement in all parts of my life, whether it be my job or the effort I put into what I wear, and this little blog of mine. I'm looking forward to what else 2011 will bring me.

  1. I love the subtle pattern of that shirt. I can't wait to see how you style it when the weather gets warmer :)

  2. Love your style! The pieces are so well put together, this outfit is so light and happy, especially when the city looks so gray today. Don't know how you do it in this weather, but u def. pull it off! Looking fwd to seeing more adorable outfits!

  3. You look adorable in these pics. :)

  4. Love this outfit! I really like the light blue with the mustard yellow! What a pretty, unexpected combo!

  5. This is so lovely and floaty! The skirt looks absolutely filmy and cloud-like. I love the bright pop of yellow, too. I am absolutely with you on that feeling of sadness at seeing discarded Christmas trees. I've seen a few just thrown by the dumpster and they're always brown. The ones that absolutely get to me though are the ones that still have traces of tinsel on them! I am such a sap.

  6. awesome outfit. :) you look great as usual

  7. I love how feminine this look is - the soft draping of the skirt, the pretty print, the ruffled trim. Lovely!
