Summer Snow Leopard

What I'm wearing:
*MICHAEL Michael Kors Snow Leopard Print Dress
*Enzo Angiolini "Maylie" Pump in Yellow Patent Croc
*Martin + Osa Clutch in Pink Patent

Now I usually don't air my insecurities on this blog, but I will admit that one of the biggest issues that I have with my physique are my arms. No matter how much weight I lose or how much I exercise, they never seem to get slimmer or more toned. I'll admit I don't really do that much with weights, I can barely get myself to do cardio, and I know I really should, but I am having a hard time getting started. My arms are the reason that I usually don't wear dresses with a neckline such as this one, as I think they make my arms look worse. But can I also brag for just a second? Last time that I was at home in May, I found this dress in my sister's closet, tried it on, and it just didn't look good. But this past weekend, I put it on again, and it fit! So I am wearing it, even if I am self conscious about my arms. Since I actively tried to get into shape in the beginning of the year, I've lost 17 pounds. I am not one for numbers on a scale, I can tell if I am losing or gaining by the way  my clothes fit, so I've only weighed myself maybe a handful of times all year. But I couldn't help but fist pump a little after I saw that I lost those excess pounds. This is just motivating me to keep working hard at it. Thanks for letting me share my excitement! =)

  2. I feel the same way about my arms. The other day I was waving goodbye to someone and I looked down and there was so much jiggling going on (the bottom part of my arm)! I was like "OMG, what the heck is that??" That's why I never post pictures of myself from the side on my blog....my arms look huge!

  5. You are looking great... I thought you were looking better, you can see it in you face too. Good for you! As someone who has also been struggling with weight for the past few years (so far lost 50 - the last 20 or so I am having a really hard time with), it is nice for it to be noticed, because it is hard work! You are smart to do it now, because it only gets harder as you age (I am 52, and it is MUCH harder than when I was 32).

  6. I knew you look slimmer in the recent pictures! It goes perfect with your new hair and hair color. Would you mind sharing how you lost all the weight? And just saw you answered me on the hair color you've used. I'm afraid to do it myself but, am going to try it! Btw, you look FABULOUS with this dress and no, your arm looks just fine! Do you flat iron your hair?

  10. Congrats! I am insecure about my arms too! Looking at Michelle Obama's arms makes me feel even more insecure! This summer I started doing push ups, blanks, and bridges. Try it out if you haven't already.

  12. Cassy,
I blow dry my hair first and then flat iron it with a GHD iron (worth the investment!)

    A Stylized Hysteria,
Thanks so much! I've been doing a combination of Weight Watchers point counting, drinking Slim-fast shakes for lunch once in a while, and just overall trying to cut back on eating large quantities of food. I will eat what I want, but only have a bit. And I've been trying to get my butt to the gym!

  13. You look GORGEOUS in this dress!! I have the same issues with my arms and legs being a bit stubby and not being able to get rid of it. But if you're looking this good, no one will be looking at your arms, girlie! Congrats on the weight loss, you look great!!

  19. congrats on the slim down! that dress looks super foxy on you!
And no worries, I think a lot of us have the same insecurities... have you tried doing planks or lowering water bottle slowly behind your head while you watch tv? little things that take only a few minutes can go a long way :)

  20. Hate to tell you but you're deluded :) you've always looked beautiful and your arms are lovely.

I'm actually a bit disturbed by people responding with tips on how to work your arms, and so many commments on your thinness. You've never needed any of it but I'm glad you feel good!
