I'm Walking on Sunshine

What I'm wearing:
*anthropologie Angles & Angles Cardigan (similar here)
*aerie Crochet Back Tank
*anthropologie Tulip Perspective Mini (similar here)
*Uniqlo Herringbone Tights (similar here and here)
*Target Kamaria Ankle Boots

This is one of those ensembles that looked better in my mind than in execution. Don't you hate it when you take a photo of an outfit, then upload them to your computer, then realize a certain belt or necklace would have made the outfit? But oops, I am too lazy to re-take a photo. This is definitely one of those outfits.

I think I do love the individual pieces though, not sure about them together. The cardigan is super soft and I think the mix of ribbed and non-ribbed knits make it fun. The skirt was a great sale buy, it's just a smidge too big on me but I love the tulip motif and the golden color in it.

As I perused my closet today I realized that I've been doing a horrible job of being on my low-buy. I think what needs to be done is to quit shopping cold turkey. I do have a couple of orders on their way to me, but that's IT. I love shopping but I realized that it was just filler for something that is missing in my life. I have more than enough clothes for one person, and have a whole set of spring/summer clothes that I am having sent to me from my parents' home. I've already bought my summer shoes, and have plenty to work with. So I'm declaring it here (again) - no more shopping for me! If I even talk about buying something please chastise me. =)

  1. your skirt is so beautiful! ^^
and i really love your make-up!

  2. You are just too beautiful. I love the color combo here.

p.s. don't forget to enter my Peruvian Feather Earring GIVEAWAY on itssimplelove.blogspot.com

  3. Not to get too serious, but I also feel that shopping is a "filler for something missing in my life." What do you think it is for you?

  4. Haha - me too! No more shopping for me for a while. Lately, I've been using my blog as an excuse for shopping - "research," I've been calling it. Sigh. Yep - back to a shopping moratorium.

You look lovely as always, by the way.

  5. The skirt is gorgeous. And I too have days where something that works in my head just looks "off" in real life. But I have to say that this doesn't look at all to be the case with you! I like the skirt, cardigan, and boots, though a wide belt either under or over the cardigan would've given you a nice shape!

As for abstaining from shopping, I understand. I wish you the best!

  6. I love that skirt as well and always run into the same problem with certain outfits and pieces.

Good luck with the no shopping! I make the same declaration every month and never succeed. :(

  7. I love this outfit! I agree with Amy's suggestion that a belt might have pulled it all together a little more, but overall its still great.

  8. rosa, i love seeing how you put your outfits together. the skirt is lovely...perhaps you could try a shorter cardigan since the skirt is full?

maybe you could do a series of "shopping your closet" posts? new stuff or no, you're always inspiring. :)

  9. LOL, I do that all the time (upload pictures and then realize I should have added something but...eh...too lazy) :) Anyway, I love the colors in this outfit - looks great on you :)

  10. Beautiful skirt and I like the drapey cardi.

I know what you mean about shopping, I put my foot down on myself last night (but I too, am still receiving packages in the mail!)

  11. I applaud your decision to take control of your shopping. You have an amazing wardrobe & sense of style. Why not commit to creating each day's outfit from shopping your closet. I once felt I had a shopping problem but finally got disgusted with having too much stuff. Now purging unneeded stuff & creating a workable core wardrobe & most of all knowing my shopping does not control me, feels good - better - than that high I got from shopping.

  12. No more shopping? I'll believe it when I see it.

  13. That's so admirable of you! One of my girlfriends and I had to make a pact to reinforce my current shopping ban.

And I know what you mean about not loving your outfit after the (photograph) fact. Despite what you think, I think this outfit looks very pulled together!

  14. Rosa, I saw you in Rockefeller Ctr Anthropologie on Monday (the day it rained I can't keep up with the days anymore) I so wanted to say hello but I did not want to come off as a crazy anthro blogger invading your space. I love your blog...that's what I wanted to say when I saw you. But I will say that I did not notice an anthro shopping bag so perhaps you are sticking to your new NO Shopping rule. Good Luck.

  15. Mia,
You should have said hello! =) I was there to return something, and I didn't walk out with anything (even though I ordered the Two-Wheeler dress online). I'm trying to be good!

  16. Love that skirt on you, lady! good luck with the quitting cold turkey. I'm on a mini ban since the huge liberty of London craze, still deciding what to keep vs return, and the keep pile is a lot bigger than I thought!
