You Are My Sweetest Downfall

What I'm wearing:
*J.Crew V-neck Ruffle Cardigan (similar here)
*aerie Scoop-Neck Tank (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Rhona Skirt (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Night Flora Sandals (similar here and here)
*anthropologie Stormy Seas Necklace (similar here and here)
*Michael Kors Black Oversized Watch (similar on sale here!)

Whenever I wear a white top and black bottom, it gives me flashbacks to my middle school years when you had to dress this way for orchestra concerts. But apparently I can wear a white top to work if its under a black layer, so I decided to branch out from my all black ensembles. You can't see the details of this outfit *at all* but I think it looks alright in real life.

The Rhona Skirt is going to be a staple in my summer wardrobe for sure. It's made out of a nice heavy linen, and I love the bow! (And of course the pockets. I can hide some serious snackage in those pockets.)

So in love with the Night Flora Sandals. Since I was seriously lacking in all-black footwear, these were a great buy. I think they'd be perfect for the summer with a simple black dress. The flowers make them a bit more whimsical than a simple gladiator sandal. They run a bit narrow, but I am determined to make them work for my wide-ish feet.

The Stormy Seas Necklace is definitely one of my favorites, and one that I don't wear often enough. I thought it added a nice pop of color!

Thanks for all the get-well-soon wishes! I'm alright, just feeling under the weather a bit still, and armed with lots of blush and bronzer to at least not scare my co-workers. My hair is a lost cause though.

  1. I love this! I wear black and white quite often and sometimes I feel like a waiter, haha! But you look so cute! The black sandals are amazing, they really add something spunky to the whole ensemble! I love the pop of color with the necklace, too -- it's such a bright blue that pairing it with neutrals is the best way to showcase that brilliance!

  2. Black + turquoise + white = one of my favorite color combos. It's crisp and clean, but still a bit of fun. Love this!

  6. ITA about the skirt -- I was in love as soon as I saw it! I wish it came more colors than black though. I may live in NYC but I reject the black uniform.

  7. You're so funny! I never would have thought about the days of *orchestra/band* concerts until you mentioned it. I think the addition of white tops will give you a fresh twist on your work wardrobe. This looks great with the pop of mint from your Stormy Seas necklace!

  9. That's funny about your flashbacks – I feel similarly, which is maybe why I don't wear white/black ensembles often! I'm glad you can branch out a bit at work though, you've probably got a bunch of cute white tops that you can mix in for variety! It seems like work allows you to wear some color in accessories, so it will be fun to see how you weave in your jewelry collection. :)
